Another thing worth mentioning maybe: I understand that tyrosine is broken down to tyramine and too much tyramine can cause problems. It can cause problems even quicker, I understand, in people who are on any MAO inhibitors.

This is great, as you explain more about how tyrosine is broken down, and under what circumstances there can result more tyramine, and the reason why it can happen that the connection between gut and brain can be shut off, fascinating stuff!

I will guess you are 100% right :-)

To put it very short. It is not beneficial to mess with out nature. This is our instinct system and we can only cause imbalance in this finetuned "instrument". better to find the rootcaus to why your body and mind is not balanced. ie. finding the root cause. It is nearly always an old trauma.. or body memory, as I call it :-)

This is in reference to the comment by Lilian about "Root Cause" - I recently realized that sometimes a shock happens , it is dealt with , and it stops happening . But trauma is caused when a shock is repeated , and usually no matter what you do , it keeps happening . Then , you have to change a lot of your reality , to make that shock stop happening , but usually , you bring it along with you somehow , in the term called " PTSD " - this is because ultimately, as humans , we trust our ability to create - and to influence . And that ability was thwarted by - let's say , a neighbor that is a thief and regularly steals from you . So , sometimes that invasion experience is impossible to deal with , and you have to move away . But then , you lose a part of your humanity . How to overcome this trauma ? Simply be grateful that it happened . As soon as you see three points of acceptance , your natural human creative self will immediately show you benefits to the story that you experienced . Healing the traumas , and sometimes, privilege can act like trauma also , is the only way to go to bed at night in a peaceful state . Doing that emotional work , lots of times requires a "Spiritual" or ethereal wind to pass through the story , and thus bring fresh vision into an old theater play . At age 60 , it seemed so STUPID of me , to realize that trauma is created by repetition , because when you face life , you fall , you get up , you think you always were getting up . But even if you get up every single time you fell , you have to say " Why was I falling so much ? " and you have to face the fact that someone was tripping you . Over and over again . And that , is where the trauma is . No , I can't make the tripping stop , except by NEVER tripping anyone else ever , and once I set out on MY path with THAT goal , suddenly my trauma resolves itself . Forgiveness is not always about a specific person , sometimes it is about re thinking a common communal behavior pattern , and deciding to stop repeating it , and move in a direction different than the precedent that was set .

Well you are right in a lot of this :-) . But by letting go of ONE answer on everything, I dig down to whatever the rootcause is. We are on different levels of development. If you are stuck in emotional traumas it might be enough to be gratefull, If you are stuck in instinct stress it is not enough. There are so many groups out there that use gratfullness, so if that worked as the only thing... a lot more has recovered. It is so much faster going directly after the traumas. Just my experiences. I learn people to see the good in the bad, to refraime the situation. It works and you can say it comes close to gratefulness. To let go of whatever fustration, regret that follows :-)
